The Interrupted Festival by Carl Herpfer
Carl Herpfer, 1836-1897, born in Dinkelsbühl on November 30. He died in Munich on June 18. He is considered a genre and portrait painter from the old German school. Herpfer received his formal education at the Beaux Arts Academy in Munich, Germany. Carl Herpfer traveled to France to study, but never had showings in the Paris Salons. He exhibited in Munich from 1868 to 1888. His works are highly esteemed by collectors in Munich, and all over the world.
