Special Notes

Update from Las Vegas

Well, the long Labor Day week-end is closing, and I hope everyone in the family had a good, safe, happy time of it! Here in Las Vegas, we did very little to celebrate the unofficial closing of our long hot summer, and the beginning of our Indian Summer fall that we are usually lucky enough to enjoy till around the first week of January, then we have a real rough winter of about 3-4 weeks and Spring starts! Today, Monday, we have been surrounded in the valley with storm clouds, but they are all bluff. Not a drop. This is also the start of one of our 'monsoon' seasons, so we probably will get out 1/8 or 1/16 inch of rain real soon! Mother is doing well, as in Joey and Tara, and my dad, Jack. We all just took it real easy this week-end, the humidity was up, along with the temperature, so it was mostly an indoor Labor day. Katie is doing well, and finished her first week at school, and she is thrilled to be in the seventh grade. She is growing up so fast, and getting taller than her older sisters. It is hard for me to believe that my Jacque is now 29 years old! She is doing great, and looking forward to new snow in Colorado for her yearly telemart ski expeditions. She had promised me new pictures, but I am not holding my breath for hers, or anyone elses, that I have been promised! I hope all is well with the family, in every location of our land. I was really hoping that this site might serve as a little of an inspiration for the family to keep in better touch, but that old saying out of sight out of mind seems very much the case here on this site, and it looks like my excited expectations short-lived and a bit premature. Oh well,,,,My love and thoughts to each of you, and have a good week coming up, at least it will be a short one for most of us.
